So, last night, I was going to get on and make a couple of blog posts about “stuff.”  As I tried to log on, however, I kept getting an error message.  I tried everything.  Upgrading WordPress, Re-installing WordPress, dancing a tribal dance from Djbouti while juggling pine cones and singing German Arias.  Nothing worked.  <Nerdy Explanation> I eventually discovered that there was an error in my DNS record which kept conflicting with my old web host (Powweb) and my new webhost (Webhostingpad.)  It had been set up correctly, so every now and again, my ISP was accidentally routing my traffic to my account at Powweb even though I had disabled the blog there months ago. </Nerdy Explanation>  So, if you’ve tried going to my blog lately and have gotten either a blank page or a server error message, that was why.  After a call to my new hosting company (which rocks), I was able to get the issue resolved I hope, and we should be back to normal.

The first couple days of vacation have been mildly busy, but also relaxing.  I took a bunch of shots of some of the cool birds that visit the Great Salt Lake marshlands during the summer.  I’ll try to post some on my Picasaweb account later.  I went and bought some new wireless internet equipment for my parent’s new computer which I got them as a combination Birthday, Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Anniversary present, and got that set up.  We played a lot of Wii Bowling, and then, just to prove that we really aren’t as good as our scores on Wii Bowling would lead us to believe they were, we went real bowling and sucked it up.  (It was seriously painful).

Today, my sister came up with her two adorable little girls: my niece Aubrey and her new little Cocker Spaniel puppy, Stella.  We all played some games, then went over to my aunt and uncle’s house where we met up with my Grandma Reighter and her husband Bob, whom I haven’t seen in too many years.  We had a yummy dinner, took a nice family picture, and overall had a good time.

Throughout all of this, I’ve taken a lot of naps, practiced my guitar, done a little bit of reading, made friends with the neighbor dogs, and bought a cool pair of linen pants.  It’s been a nice, calm couple of days.

I’ve got lots of pictures, but I’ve only got my work computer with me, and I don’t have a decent version of Photoshop on this machine.  So, I’ll do my best with what I have, but I probably won’t get the bulk of them uploaded until later.

More to come!
